Peter and Olivia - First/Last episode
alone (without you by my side)
Roland Barrett: Her eyes. When I looked into her eyes… it wasn’t Amanda. I don’t know what I brought back, but I know… it — it wasn’t her.
Eyes are the windows into the soul, as they say. That indefinable thing that makes you who you are, a recurring theme in Fringe. While Barrett finds out that reanimation doesn’t bring back the essence of a being, Peter as he sits there silently knew in his gut that the Olivia who came back with them is different. But he is human and not infallible, and thus rationalizes the inconsistencies away in order to have what he wants. Such a good Olivia and Peter scene, like peeling off layers of their characters.

"Yes, you do. I have thought of one hundred reasons…why you should come back. To…to fight the shape-shifters, to take care of Walter, to…to save the world. But in the end…you have to come back. Because you belong with me."

Olivia, if you need me, I’m here.
I can do this…
“She gave me something that I hadn’t had since — really since my mom died. She gave me a place to call home. A place I’d want to call home.”
